Blasphemy is characterised as expressing or engaging in actions that show disrespect towards God or religious beliefs. The traditional legal offences related to blasphemy and blasphemous libel were officially abolished in England and Wales through the enactment of the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act in 2008. According to the Pew Research Centre's findings, as of 2019, 79 out of the 198 countries and territories studied (40%) had established laws or policies prohibiting blasphemy. Earth’s Rotation Day

8th January

Hey there! Did you ever stop to think about the incredible dance our planet performs every day? You probably remember from your science lessons that the Earth takes 24 hours to complete a full rotation on its axis, but here's the fascinating part: the speed of this rotation subtly changes each day and throughout the year.

Believe it or not, a true solar day isn't exactly 24 hours; there are slight variations, mere seconds that make each day unique. Even though we use a mean solar day as an average, the essence remains the same—the time it takes for Earth to complete a full rotation.

Isn't it mind-blowing how something as routine as a day has its own subtle nuances? It's these little details that make Earth's Rotation Day so special.

So, next time you catch yourself marvelling at the clock, take a moment to appreciate the intricate balance of our planet and the wonders of its daily spin. After all, embracing these moments of reflection can help us prioritise solutions over problems and find joy in the beauty of our world!

Dry January

January

Embarking on a "Dry January" can bring a myriad of physical and mental health benefits. First and foremost, abstaining from alcohol for a month allows your body to experience a much-needed break. This period of sobriety provides an opportunity for your liver to recuperate, aiding in improved digestion and more restful sleep. Additionally, eliminating alcohol can lead to better hydration, contributing to healthier skin and overall well-being.

On the mental health front, a break from alcohol often results in increased clarity and improved cognitive function. Without the influence of alcohol, individuals commonly report enhanced focus, better mood regulation, and reduced anxiety. The benefits extend beyond the individual, as participating in Dry January often fosters a sense of community and support. Sharing this experience with others can lead to strengthened social bonds and create a positive environment that encourages healthier lifestyle choices. Embracing a dry month can serve as a powerful reset button, prompting reflection on one's relationship with alcohol and paving the way for long-term, positive changes in lifestyle and well-being.
