Lean-Thinking in Health Care Creating Change - Adding Value in the NHS

“We need to be  able to pinpoint more clearly where there is the greatest potential to
improve patient outcomes by reducing avoidable costs through more innovative use of preventative measures by utilising methods such as Continuous Improvement techniques and LEAN Thinking concepts which Toyota have deployed so successfully.”
so said the Minister of Health at a recent NHS Conference.

Creating Change and Adding Value  - without cutting costs. Lean Thinking encourages a continuous improvement culture which see NHS employees and Foundation Trusts reducing wastes - thus increasing efficiency and value in their services.

One of the Trusts we delivered this 2-day workshop to immediately identified a 12% increase in bed availability and 21% of cost savings through waste reduction and streamlined, LEAN processes within the Hospital.

When Clinical Intelligence meets Emotional Intelligence

When it comes to happiness and success in life, emotional intelligence (E.Q.) matters just as much, if not more, as intellectual ability (I.Q.). Emotional intelligence helps you build stronger relationships, succeed at work, and achieve your career and personal goals.
Emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, use, understand, and manage emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathise with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence impacts many different aspects of your daily life, such as the way you behave and the way you interact with others. When Clinical Intelligence meets Emotional Intelligence identifies how to fine-tune and develop our 8 E.I. behaviours in times of pressure and stress. The Harvard Business Review has recently hailed Emotional Intelligence as  "a ground-breaking, paradigm-shattering idea, one of the most influential business ideas of the decade" and the NHS states in their Leadership framework that "Emotional Intelligence is now recognised as a key leadership skill within the NHS".

The Level above Mindfulness where Happiness and Well-being Thrive

The PERMA model was designed by Martin Seligman (called “The Father of Positive Psychology”) with five core elements of psychological well-being and happiness to help alienate those feelings of helplessness and hopelessness. Seligman believes that these five elements can help people reach a life of fulfilment, happiness, stress resilience and meaning. This model can also be applied to organisations to help people develop new cognitive and emotional tools.

Practical Tools and Habits proven to promote personal, team and corporate resilience and well-being.
This practical well-being workshop is tailored to address the challenges people face in their work / life balance by offering an opportunity to reflect on their current well-being as well as mindfulness, resilience and emotional intelligence to equip them with the tools to practice self-leadership in order for them to “Perform under Pressure”.

As stated by the NHS Innovation and Improvement Department, "In the NHS environment, there are many factors that can cause Stress"
