• There’s been quite a bit of cross-continental expansion taking place in the industry this week. San Francisco-based RedAwning’s integration with Belvilla, a leading online specialist in European self-catering vacation rentals, means that more than 20,000 homes in Austria, France, Spain, Italy and Portugal will be added to RedAwning’s portfolio, bringing it to around 140,000 properties around the world.
And heading in the other direction, property management agency Veeve has launched in Los Angeles, seven years after its founding in London. Veeve is expanding its portfolio of more than 2,000 homes in London and Paris.
The vacation rental industry is at a fascinating stage in its development, and is characterised by nimble and ambitious companies, many of them relatively new, who see huge opportunities in seeking out new international markets. These regional expansion deals are sure to happen on an increasingly regular basis.
