• The Hotel Management Company (THMC) is running a series of bespoke educational events called “Performance Optimisation for Independent Hotel owners”.

 

The next event takes place on February 28 at Moore Stephens’ offices in London EC1.

 

THMC says it is entirely focused on the independent hotel sector and recognises the many challenges that face owners and operators of such businesses today. The London event, and a series of subsequent dates, are designed to enable hoteliers to benefit from the input of some of the country’s leading experts in a range of relevant disciplines.

 

The day is made up of six keynote sessions. The practical sessions will be interactive and will provide an insight into all of the latest thinking and practices that have proved effective in the sector. These sessions are available free to hotel owners and/or general managers. Spaces will be limited to 12 attendees on a first come first serve basis.

 

Sessions will cover a market overview, performance benchmarking, on- and offline marketing, supply and demand, revenue management and cost control.

 

Further events will be taking place in Glasgow (12th March), Exeter (3rd April), Cambridge (15th May), Edinburgh (5th June), Inverness (26th June), London (11th September), Manchester (8th October) and Birmingham (13th November).

• Don't forget the entry deadline for the 2019 Boutique Hotel Guest Experience Awards - the BoHos - has been extended until February 8th.

 

Unlike many other industry awards, the BoHos are not granted based on scores from judges, academics or social popularity contests and votes, but are awarded based on feedback from real guests in the form of online reviews and direct feedback. The awards are open to boutique, lifestyle and hybrid hotels worldwide, and cost nothing to enter – there are no hidden fees or compulsory event attendance.

 

The BoHo Awards Ceremony will be held at the Boutique + Lifestyle Hotel Summit in London, and shortlisted properties will be invited to send a delegate to attend both the Summit and ceremony at no cost.
