• This week, temporary housing platform ReloQuest was named "Best Short-Term Rental Platform / Operator" at the fourth annual Serviced Apartment Awards.
The gala dinner presentation, which was hosted by actor and comedian, Les Dennis, was held at the Park Plaza Riverbank in London, with more than 350 international guests in attendance.
ReloQuest beat off competition in the short-term rental category from Air Agents, BridgeStreet, Maison Privee, The Plum Guide and ServicedApartments.nl.
International Hospitality Media CEO Piers Brown said: "It was a great night for all involved, and very encouraging to see such engagement from the corporate travel community. Congratulations to all the winners and shortlisted entries."
The 18 Serviced Apartment Awards were judged by an independent panel consisting of travel buyers, journalists, architects, designers and service providers, and attracted more than 300 entries from around the world.
In other news, the inaugural Short Stay Show was held at ExCel London this week, which brought together professionals from the short-term rental industry for a one-day conference.
The event was primarily aimed at owners, managers and investors of short-term accommodation who were looking to start or scale up their businesses.
Over 1,400 visitors attended the event, as well as more than 50 exhibitors and 100 speakers, who discussed the growth and innovation within the industry. Notable speakers included political journalist Robert Peston and Short-Term Accommodation Association chairperson Merilee Karr.
Show organiser Jim Curry said: "To all the partners and exhibitors who held our hand in a leap of faith and trusted us to deliver an attendance of more than 1,400 short stay specialists in one day - we did it. Same time next year (but bigger!)."
