• There were some fascinating discussions taking place at Serviced Apartment Summit Americas last week, and a topic which kept cropping up was the concerted efforts that companies in the short-term rental space are making to attract corporate travellers - historically a core customer demographic for traditional serviced apartment operators and extended stay hotel brands.
There is still a long way to go before many of these operators can meet the duty-of-care standards and expectations of consistency that big companies demand, but as Joe DiTomaso of AllTheRooms explains, progress is being made, and smaller companies with less rigid policies are allowing their travellers considerable autonomy over where they can stay.
And with an increasingly mobile workforce combining with rising office rents globally, the co-working and co-living sector is also poised for major growth.
