09•12•19 Welcome to the latest Short Term Rentalz weekly newsletter!
• 2020 promises to be a defining year for the short-term rental industry, particularly with the launch of our Shortyz Awards on the 11 March and Airbnb preparing to go public, and now I have released my own exclusive predictions for the year ahead.
After making my predicting debut 12 months ago, I have pinpointed the latest trends that may emerge in the industry and referred back to last year's claims to see which have rung true.
I collated the insights of various leading professionals in the rental space, including: Merilee Karr [CEO, UnderTheDoormat], Guy Westlake [founder, Lavanda], Simon Lehmann [CEO, AJL Consulting], Cameron Boal [VP of marketing, TravelNest], Vered Raviv Schwarz [COO, Guesty], Alexander Limpert [CEO, GuestReady], Sean Worker [managing director and principal, T5 Strategies] and Caroline Bremner [head of travel and tourism research, Euromonitor International].
Take a look at the ten predictions in my 2020 piece here and drop me a line at paul@internationalhospitality.media to let me know what you think the most significant upcoming industry trends will be!
Speaking of the Shortyz, we continue to be inundated with nominations across our 13 award categories, including Best channel manager, Best property management company [10 units +], Best use of social media, Best app or website solution, Rising Star and Pioneer Award. Well done to the likes of Guesty, Operto Guest Technologies, Virtual Concierge Service, CheKin App, Avgustina Angelova [ALTIDO] and Deborah Labi [HaveYouGot] who have recently submitted their full entries!
Visit our newly-launched Shortyz website here, where you can find all the information you need, including event details, the nomination and judging process, award categories and the judging panel.
With the deadline for submitting nominations on 31 December 2019 fast approaching, we encourage everyone to get nominating your Shortyz Stars at shortyz@internationalhospitality.media - why not submit your entry nice and early before the Christmas holidays?
