Editorial comment

16•12•19 Welcome to the latest Short Term Rentalz weekly newsletter!

• As I write my penultimate editorial comment before Christmas, the ShortTermRentalz content shows no sign of dwindling and this week's newsletter really is one to watch; indeed, because I have just published my list of the "Ones to Watch" in the short-term rental space in 2020.

For this exclusive piece, I have identified ten individuals that I believe will leave an indelible mark on the space in the next 12 months. I have included five men and five women, among them established industry names and a number of up-and-coming players who are making key contributions to the growth and development of the short-term rental industry.

To check out who made the cut for our list of the Ones to Watch, click on the link here.

With December upon us, our inaugural Shortyz Awards are now less than three months away on 11 March 2020 and we continue to receive a high volume of nominations across our 13 award categories. Well done to the likes of PriceLabs, Shepper, Dormoa, Beach Retreats, Ken Brown [Furnished Quarters] and Vivi Cahyadi [AltoVita] who have recently submitted their full entries!

Visit our newly-launched Shortyz website here, where you can find all the information you need, including event details, the nomination and judging process, award categories and the judging panel.

With the deadline for submitting nominations on 31 December 2019 fast approaching, we encourage everyone to get nominating your Shortyz Stars at shortyz@internationalhospitality.media - why not submit your entry nice and early before the Christmas holidays?

• Finally, I took part in my pre-Christmas charity initiative last week for Alzheimer's Research UK as property management company GuestReady welcomed me to their London HQ for one working day only. I learnt about the basics of property management and check-ins, read the company's new B2C brochure and went along to assist with a greeting and cleaning check at a property.

My thanks go to GuestReady for inviting me along and donating a generous amount to a charity that is close to my heart. To get an overview of my charity day, take a look at a video I put together here.
