• I'm absolutely thrilled to announce the launch of the Boutique Hotel Trailblazer webinars this September. Already we have a stellar line up - Chris Penn of Birch; Christoph Hoffmann of 25hours Hotels; and Rogier Braakman of Penta Hotels to name a few! The series has been curated and designed to encourage hotel professionals to think differently across a range of topics, with the debut session on the experiential hotelier, 7 September 2020. Registration for the webinars and trailblazers named so far can be found here.
The past six months or so has truly tested the strength and resilience of our industry, and the webinars will serve as a platform to stimulate innovation and foster ideas ahead of the in-person Urban Living Festival 2020, held at Tobacco Dock in London 25-26 November. Though the nature of conducting business has temporarily shifted, the desire to meet face-to-face is innately compelling and a return to in-person events should be encouraged for the benefit of a whole host of industries, including hospitality.
Ayo Akinsete, area managing director at Treehouse Hotel London and 1 Hotel Mayfair, recently spoke of the issue. He said: "When businesses start to come back into London, we'll start to see a slow uptick in business. But with all the businesses still working from home, that does affect us. Especially through Monday to Wednesday... we really need those businesses to come back into London." You can watch the full video interview here.
