20•08•20 Welcome to the latest ShortTermRentalz newsletter!
• I'm delighted to announce the launch of the ShortTermRentalz 'RockSTRz' webinar series from September, which will address a range of burning issues and key themes to emerge in the short-term rental industry in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The series has been curated and designed to encourage hospitality and real estate professionals to think differently across a number of topics. The first session, entitled Humanity v technology: how will tech adoption accelerate the professionalisation of the short-term rental industry?, is scheduled to take place on 15 September 2020.
Our high-calibre lineup of speakers will be announced in due course, and registration details for the webinars can be found here.
By definition, RockSTRz are non-conformists and trendsetters who seek to challenge the status quo of their industry. This will be reflected in the webinar series as we speak to some of the main innovators leading the recovery of the short-term rental sector.
While the past six months or so have been turbulent and tested the resolve and resilience of our industry, the webinars will serve as a platform to stimulate innovation and foster ideas ahead of the in-person Urban Living Festival 2020, held at Tobacco Dock in London on 25-26 November. Though the nature of conducting business has temporarily shifted, the desire to meet face-to-face has only intensified and a return to in-person events should be encouraged for the benefit of a whole host of industries, including hospitality.
The timing of these webinars, running concurrently alongside our Urban Living series, could not be more apt as the convergence of real estate asset classes accelerates at great speed, and the way in which we stay, live and work evolves in the post-Covid world.
• Don't forget to register for the next webinar in our Urban Living series, which takes place on Wednesday 26 August at 2pm BST, when the panel will be discussing: Placemaking - overvalued buzzword or under-utilised pursuit?
Joining host George Sell, editor-in-chief at IHM, will be: • Michael Goldin, director, NoiseAware
