• If there's one positive outcome of the pandemic, it's that it has presented opportunities to form and create exciting new projects and ventures. As is the case for the Thakerar and Dhamecha families, having teamed up to forge Belfont Hotels and acquiring the 89-bed Cosmopolitan Hotel in Leeds.
A landmark building in the city centre, The Cosmopolitan Hotel is a strong and significant first addition to the Belfont portfolio, which plans to add further properties within key cities around the country. It's a sign that the industry is gradually emerging out the other side of the crisis.
The uptick in sales activity is being reflected across the globe. Chicago real estate investor Waterton has partnered with Orion Companies to acquire the Virginian Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. To be managed by OLS Hotels and Resorts, the property will be repositioned to cater to the adventure travel-oriented market, with plans to add glamping style units.
