08•10•20 Welcome to the latest ShortTermRentalz newsletter!

• After announcing our next set of 'RockSTRz' expert contributors, make sure to join the 350+ industry professionals who have already registered for our webinars so far by signing up for the next session on "The rise of bespoke booking channels", which is on Tuesday 13 October at 4pm BST.

Joining me for the session will be:

• Anthony J. Gantt Jr., founder and CEO, At Ease Rentals, and Marine Major / Mateo Bradford, strategic partnerships and business development advisor, At Ease Rentals

• Victoria O'Connell, CEO and co-founder, Golightly

• Nancy McAleer, co-founder, Florida Rentals By Owners [FLARBO]

• Frank Reeves, co-founder and CEO, Avvio.com

You will learn:

- Reasons for the rise of bespoke channels and subscription models
- What vacation rentals can learn from the hotel space in terms of retention of bookings
- Book Direct: Is it a realistic strategy moving forward or is OTA distribution essential?
- Scalability of bespoke booking channels
- Niche channels that could arise in the future and how existing ones will adapt to evolving preferences

You can now register for Tuesday's unmissable webinar here.

The timing for this conversation could not be more opportune for the global short-term rental industry. As travellers' expectations become ever more specific and nuanced, some guests are turning their attention away from the major OTAs to platforms that provide bespoke offerings to specialised markets and demographics, and are highly personalised to adapt to evolving consumer preferences.

One of the companies that will be represented in the next RockSTRz webinar, At Ease Rentals, has launched its own crowdfunding campaign to accelerate its expansion across the United States and invest in product, staff and business development. The platform specifically connects vacation rental hosts with federal and military members and families during official travel, in a lodging market worth a reported $5 billion.

• Earlier this week, International Hospitality Media [IHM], the publisher of ShortTermRentalz, announced the launch of a series of Urban Living Lite online and offline events, following the postponement of the inaugural Urban Living Festival until 7-8 July next year.

Building up to and during week commencing November 23rd, IHM will be hosting a series of live face-to-face events with a digital option to join. The first in-person Urban Living Lite event [Tuesday 13 October] on "What’s going down in London town?" is sponsored by Central London Alliance and will be hosted by Blue Orchid Hotels [30 attendees max – invitation only]. Click here for the full schedule.
