• Some of our most viewed stories recently have been about hotels being brought to market, which tells me there's appetite for investing in opportunity. This week we've seen Hart Hotels, comprising The Glenmorag Hotel in Dunoon, the Garve Hotel in Garve and Mackay’s Hotel in Strathpeffer, being offered for sale as a portfolio or individually.
Collectively, the three properties feature 177 beds with potential for repurposing and available land for development. With the staycation boom set to spark further interest in countryside and coastal locations, I'd expect the hotels, which formerly focused on coach tour guests, to represent a much more interesting investment opportunity now than they would have done a year ago.
In the most recent Trailblazer webinar on boutique hotel investment and finance, our panel explored where the opportunities are for investors and developers. Although projects have been delayed or postponed, deals are still going through, with the UK and US cited as core markets for expansion.
