Podcast: Àterre's Billy Skelli-Cohen
BHN news editor Eloise Hanson speaks to Billy Skelli-Cohen, co-founder of Àterre, about the launch of his new hospitality concept, key learnings from his time spent leading Lore Group, as well as advice for hoteliers who are looking to innovate.

It was a real pleasure talking to Billy Skelli-Cohen yesterday, co-founder of a new hospitality concept Àterre. Dialling in from sunny Florida, his current base was a stark contrast from the grey south coast of England. I began to dream of warmer climes, in particular Athens where Àterre is set to make its European debut.
Describing Athens as "the incubator of the brand", Skelli-Cohen explained that the simplicity of southern Mediterranean hospitality, with its "imperfect yet natural" service, is at the core of Àterre. He goes on to mention how buzzwords such as "authentic" and "local" have sadly become butchered in the industry, and warns that we should "stop shoving things down people's throat".
The vision for Àterre as an aspirational brand, where guests feel comfortable and can create their own experiences, is one that ties in with predictions of travelling with purpose at a slower pace post-Covid. With the knowledge that there's a second live Àterre project in New York, with possible upcoming locations in the States and Europe, I look forward to when my armchair travel is exchanged for the real thing.
