Yays CEO Heule steps down, Schwartz takes the helm Netherlands: Yays’ CEO and co-founder Peter Heule has stepped down from his role, to be replaced by former Cerberus Capital Management VP Zachary Schwartz.
EDITOR'S COMMENT
• It's been a lot of fun watching the growth of Amsterdam-based aparthotel brand Yays under the leadership of Peter Heule.
Along with his fellow directors, Heule has created a brand with a distinct and very recognisable identity. It has an interesting and varied property portfolio and was ahead of the curve in identifying the trend for immersing guests in the neighbourhood they are staying in.
The company has won several Serviced Apartment Awards over the years, and a quick glance at the categories it has been successful in gives a good picture of what a solid all-round brand Yays has become, taking prizes at company, property and individual level.
Heule has now stepped down to be replaced by former Cerberus Capital Management VP Zachary Schwartz. With 15 yers of experience in the European hotel sector, across investment, advisory and asset management roles, Schwartz is well paced to oversee the next phase of growth for Yays, and to build on its established foundations.
• While we're on the subject of awards, don't forget that entries for the 2021 Serviced Apartment Awards are now open. The awards have quickly established themselves as a highlight of the industry calendar, and indeed for many of us, the 2020 awards in early March were the last gathering of any size that we attended.
The awards will be presented at a ceremony in London on June 24th. For more information and to enter, visit www.servicedapartmentawards.com
