OYO launches UK business development model

 

OYO has created the Network Developer programme to support the expansion of the group’s hotels across the United Kingdom, with developers receiving an ongoing share of OYO earnings at property level.

• OYO's latest move to expand the business throughout the UK is reminiscent of multi level marketing schemes. Perhaps a first for the hospitality industry, MLM models are used by some retail companies to recruit and sell products without the need for an employed workforce. In terms of growth, this model certainly has its advantages.

 

Given that the UK is behind other countries in the recovery, there's great potential for hotels nationwide to capitalise on demand when travel returns full-swing. The financial incentive for owners to benefit from OYO's earnings at property level is therefore appealing. Backed by the full support of OYO's in-house team, with additional revenue streams able to be generated by partner services, the Network Developer model could well attract a lot of interest.

 

It'll be fascinating to see how this unfolds over the next year. It's a well-timed business opportunity for an industry that's been hard hit - especially for small, independently owned and operated hotels.
