EDITOR'S COMMENT
24•05•21 Welcome to the latest ShortTermRentalz newsletter.
• The news that a new 'elevated RV / glamping brand', Camp Collective, is to launch in the United States this year makes our upcoming RockSTRz webinar on Breaking new ground in the outdoor short-term rental sector [1 June, 4pm BST] all the more timely.
The burgeoning interest in recreational vehicle [RV] travel has been highlighted many times on STRz, not least due to the skyrocketing investment in the segment, with the CEO of one such company, RVShare, Jon Gray, joining our expert panel next week.
Increasingly over the last year, RVs and glamping sites are losing their "alternative" tag as these destinations cater to both leisure travellers and digital nomads in highly curated locations, and the overall quality of services and amenities becomes more elevated.
Our session next week will shine a spotlight on the correlation between mental health and wellbeing and 'revenge travel', the move towards greater accessibility and sustainability for domestic travel, and the new investment opportunities beyond urban centres.
Our expert panellists joining me for the webinar include: • Jon Gray, CEO, RVShare • Kate Morel, Founder, Morel & Co UK • Jason Hsiao, Managing Director, Shaw Investments, Forbes Real Estate Council member • Fourth speaker tbc

• Over in Europe, Awaze has acquired three holiday rental firms in the UK and Denmark [Amberley House, Portscatho Holidays and Bornholmtours] as it continues with its ambitious continental growth strategy and caters to "unprecedented" vacation rental demand.
The three purchases add more than 1,000 new holiday homes to Awaze’s portfolio, which already includes more than 110,000 managed vacation rentals. It follows CEO Henrik Kjellberg's words on our RockSTRz webinar in October that there was "huge demand for getaways" in 2021, as part of a collective appetite to travel after imposed self-isolation.
