STRz and SAN partner with AltoVita for Flexible Rentals Market survey publication

ShortTermRentalz and Serviced Apartment News have partnered with AltoVita for the publication of its Flexible Rentals Market Survey 2021 - download it for free HERE.

EDITOR'S COMMENT

• A report published this week by global accommodation platform AltoVita, conducted in partnership with STRz and Serviced Apartment News, has provided one of the most in-depth analyses of the state of the flexible rental market yet, including the impacts of Covid-19 on the industry, increased guest expectations and changes to inventory.

Driven by the 'working from anywhere' phenomenon, guest expectations are becoming more specific and nuanced, particularly where they are working and what their work spaces should include. The report reveals that high-speed internet [43 per cent], the provision of desk and office spaces [29 per cent], and laptop-friendly surfaces [nine per cent] are the priorities for workers on the move, and with 59 per cent of respondents seeing a demand for larger spaces, more operators will adapt to the needs of the new business traveller demographic.

Similarly, travellers will be less willing to compromise on the exacting standards that they have come to expect from more traditional accommodation such as hotels, so the implementation of flexible bookings and cancellation policies, enhanced cleaning adhering to WHO standards, and technology adoption [including contactless entry] will all be considered essential for delivering a high-quality, comfortable guest experience. Those who fail to do so are likely to be left behind and unable to capture the pent-up demand for a return to travel.
