EDITOR'S COMMENT

• Seven months after we brought the global short-term rental industry together to celebrate achievement and recognise best practice, we're excited to announce that the Shortyz Awards are returning for 2023 at another unique venue and that you can begin submitting your entries at our dedicated awards platform.

The 2023 Shortyz, which are open to everyone from property managers to booking platforms, PMS, channel managers, suppliers, camping / glamping companies and more, will be held at ArcelorMittal Orbit [designed by Sir Anish Kapoor and engineer Cecil Balmond] in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Wednesday 26 April. It will once again take place the day before the Short Stay Summit, which is moving to Old Billingsgate for 2023.

Having received more than 350 entries from around the world in 2022, we are making it even easier for STR professionals to enter as many of the 20 categories as they wish at no cost, whether you are nominating yourself, your company or an industry colleague. We're also adding a new category for 2023 - the Rentalpreneur Award - to showcase individual hosts or independent property managers who make money from renting out holiday properties.

Submit your entries for the 2023 Shortyz between now and Monday 6 March at our awards platform here and check out the highlights video from our May 2022 event here.

• In other news, it has been a busy week covering three funding rounds [with a combined value approaching $200m], an acquisition in Australia, and Airbnb's bid to take a larger stake in the multifamily market via partnerships with major landlords.

It all paves the way for more major developments in 2023, which is exactly what we'll be discussing in our upcoming annual trends webinar on Tuesday 13 December at 4pm GMT]. Our panel contains experts from Abode Worldwide, Lavanda and Peerspace - mark your calendars for the last STRz webinar of 2022 by signing up at this link.
