EDITOR'S COMMENT

• IHM’s Recharge event kicks off today in Lisbon as urban innovators at the cutting edge of contemporary hospitality and real estate convene to challenge the status quo.

The two-day event begins with a day of property tours around coliving residences, The Lumiares boutique hotel, Heden Rossio coworking space, The Vintage Hotel, mixed use development Lumino, and the Marvila Unicorn Factory Lisboa. On Day Two, our attendees will have the opportunity to listen to a series of expert panels, participate in urban living workshops, and network with like-minded individuals.

There is plenty of short-term rental representation at this year’s Recharge too, with speakers representing the likes of PriceLabs, Abode Worldwide, Opago, AltoVita, ALTIDO, Rent4Rest and FEEL PORTO.

One of the most notable and highly anticipated sessions at the event will focus on the technology that will power hospitality and real estate in the coming years, and the tech landscape in the STR industry was further highlighted this week when AJL Atelier CEO Simon Lehmann joined me in conversation to discuss the publication of his company’s Vacation Rental Technology Landscape. To hear his thoughts on the fragmentation in the space, M&A and funding opportunities, follow this link.

• Our next webinar is on Tuesday 7 February when an expert panel will discuss "Breaking down barriers in the STR sector". Don't miss the insights of Robert Geller [FabStayz] and Lorraine Woodward [Becoming RentABLE] by signing up for this free session here.

The entry period for the 2023 Shortyz Awards is also open and you can now submit your no-cost entries across our 20 categories at our dedicated awards platform by Monday 6 March. For our top tips on how to submit successful Shortyz entries, watch this short video.
